5 celebrities that had laser eye surgery and why you should, too
Are you someone who struggles to see clearly without the help of glasses or contacts? If you are, then you’re not alone. In fact, over 3 million people in the United States alone have had some form of laser eye surgery. And, increasingly, people are choosing laser eye surgery over wearing corrective lenses. Here are 5 celebrities that have chosen laser eye surgery…
1. Pop princess Taylor Swift
That’s right, for all you Swifties, the ‘Anti-hero’ singer herself has had laser eye surgery. Taylor revealed on the Jimmy Fallon show she underwent LASIK surgery to restore her vision problems. Swift recovered well and now enjoys her newly improved eyesight.
2. Kim Kardashian
Postergirl for the ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ franchise, Kim K underwent laser vision correction surgery in an episode, in a clinic in Los Angeles. Not only this, but her younger sister Kylie Jenner has also had laser eye surgery, which she documented on her show KUWTK.
3. Soccer Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo is widely considered to be one of the greatest soccer players of all time. He has numerous awards and accolades to his name, including five Ballon d’Ors (given to the best player in the world). And like many other celebrities on this list, he too had LASIK surgery, which helped him immensely in his career. In an interview, he even said that he “wouldn’t change [his] vision“ for anything in the world.
4. Nicole Kidman
Australian actress best known for her roles in “Days of Thunder,” “The Others,” and “Moulin Rouge!” chose to have LASIK in 2009 and has this to say: “I was walking around legally blind. Now I have 20/20 vision. I can’t believe I spent so many years blurry, but I think that coincides with how I was feeling. Now I notice if people are watching me, but I also smile right back if someone waves, which helps.”
5. Rocket-man! Elton John
Surprisingly, although he is known for his iconic large glasses, the “Cold-heart” singer actually had laser eye surgery in 2003 and has since been wearing fake-frames when on stage.
These are just a few examples of celebrities that have chosen laser eye surgery over wearing corrective lenses or dealing with poor vision. There are many more where they came from!
