Can I eat before and after LASIK?
Hi, it’s Dr. Chotiner from Memorial Eye Institute. When I tell people I’m a LASIK surgeon, some of them ask me: “Can I eat before and after LASIK?”
Eating before or after LASIK eye surgery will not have any ill effect on your results. However, our recommendation is that you prepare meals post-surgery in advance of your procedure because you will most likely want to rest following laser surgery.
As you will have taken a sedative before the surgery, you’ll be feeling quite relaxed and may not be feeling up to cooking after the surgery.
