Can you wear makeup after LASIK?
Hi, it’s Dr. Chotiner from Memorial Eye Institute. When I tell people I’m a LASIK surgeon, some of them ask me: “Can I wear makeup after LASIK?”
Whilst the process of LASIK is swift and prompt, make-up around the eyes can be an irritant and put you at risk of infection if used right after your procedure.
Ahead of the big day, we advise that you refrain from wearing make-up. You will need to be free of make-up during your surgical procedure.
Following surgery, we advise that you avoid wearing makeup for as long as possible while your eyes heal. You’ll especially want to avoid wearing makeup that can flake for at least a week.
