How LASIK in Harrisburg Works – Part 1: The Consultation

Considering LASIK? We’re here to help you through the process from start to finish. In this blog series, we’ll break down each step of the LASIK journey so that you know exactly what to expect. In Part 1, we’ll be covering the consultation process.

Thorough eye examination

We will thoroughly examine your eyes when you come in for your initial consultation. This will help us determine whether or not you are a good candidate for the procedure. We’ll also take some measurements of your cornea so that we can develop a personalized treatment plan for you.

Overview of the surgery and Q&A Session

Then, we’ll sit down with you and discuss the surgery in detail. We want to ensure that you understand everything that will be happening on the day of your surgery, and we’re happy to answer any questions you may have. We’ll also give you some printed materials to take home with you so that you can do additional research if you’d like.

Scheduling of pre-operative exam and surgery date

At the end of your consultation, we’ll schedule your pre-operative exam and surgery date. We typically schedule these appointments for one to two weeks apart so that there’s plenty of time for everything to be finalized.

The consultation is an important first step in the LASIK journey. At Memorial Eye Institute, we take the time to thoroughly examine your eyes and explain the procedure in detail so that you feel comfortable and confident going into surgery.
