How long after LASIK consultation is surgery?
Hi, it’s Dr. Chotiner from Memorial Eye Institute. If you’re considering lasik eye surgery, a common question asked by prospective patients is ‘How long after LASIK consultation is surgery’. I can help answer this question for you.
Firstly, I will complete a check-up on your eyes, with the help of some very special tools. This includes an optometrist assessment and ophthalmic exam (a more thorough eye exam).
It can take up to two hours for each consultation because you may have many questions you want to be answered when you decide to have treatment.
To ensure the best possible treatment outcome, we must examine your eyes in detail as it is essential that you are suitable for treatment. That’s why each consultation takes at least two hours – enough time to answer any questions or concerns about what we do.
The expert optometrist will review the results from your consultation and use that information to conduct an extensive eye exam. If everything looks good, they’ll perform surgery on you.
You can make an informed decision about your treatment once you’ve had time to process the information received in your consultation.
It’s important that we schedule a meeting soon after your consultation, but ultimately, the time period between your initial consultation and surgery is up to you.
On the day of surgery, the ophthalmic surgeon will double-check measurements as well as confirm details in your treatment plan that ensures minimal complications during your operation.
If you’d like to book a consultation at Memorial Eye Institute, or find out more about the procedure, leave us a comment or give us a call on 717-996-3028
