How old do you have to be to get LASIK?
Curious about what the best age to get LASIK surgery is? In this post, Dr Bennett Chotiner explains how young is too young to have your vision corrected.
Dr Bennett Chotiner explains that ocular maturity usually occurs between the ages of 18 and 21. At which point, the eye stops growing and the spectacle or contact lens prescriptions have stabilized and will not change from year to year. Refractive stability, often referred to as visual maturity, is the ultimate determinant of when you could have LASIK, not age.
