What is the recovery time for LASIK?
Hi, it’s Dr. Chotiner from Memorial Eye Institute. If you’re thinking about LASIK, I’ll address one of the most common questions people tend to ask: ‘What is the recovery time for LASIK?’.
With LASIK, most patients go home after about an hour after their treatment concludes, they might have a nap, take some minor medications and hydrating drops.
Your eyes might feel itchy as if there’s something in your eye and your vision will appear as if you’re looking through a translucent shower curtain.
Later on, that night and the next morning is when you should see a major improvement in your eyesight.
Most people are able to drive after their next-day appointment.
The effects of PRK may take a few more days to stabilize after that. It’s also possible that you’ll experience vision fluctuations for the first couple of weeks.
